   Your Estimate and what to look for

On a re-surface I will check for overall appearance, paving over excessive cracking or alligatoring will result in reflective cracking.  I check to be sure re-surfacing will not cause pitch or drainage problems.  The driveway has to have enough slope and doorways and entrances enough height to accommodate an additional layer of asphalt.  If these conditions are not met, removal of the existing asphalt may be recommended.

 

 

 

 

 

For stone driveways, I would look for stability of the base.  Soft spongy feel to the stone, tire marks that keep occurring and cracks in the stone indicate insufficient base.  Paving over this stone may resort in premature pavement failure.  The stone base may have to be replaced prior to paving.

We want you to know what to look for so you can understand other estimates.  You will know what is the best application for your driveway. Many times contractors will try to give you a quick fix that will last until the check clears.  We believe as does Sy Symns “An educated consumer is our best customer.”  We are here for the long haul.  Your estimate will be described in detail with an accompanying drawing to show details of the work.  You will know exactly what is going to take place on your driveway, and how.
