Our company was established in 1952, by my father Emil Manel.  After retiring from his farming business, he bought one of the first front-end loaders in Rochester.  For about 20 years, with a dozer, backhoe and loader, he did mostly excavating work for various builders and developers.  In 1972 his son, Chuck Manel became part of the organization.  At that time the company became incorporated.  After graduating from the University of Rochester in 1973 with a major in math and a minor in education, Chuck took over the company as President.  From that point in time Manel Excavating did mostly paving, sealing and concrete work.

 

In 1973 all the paving and stoning work was done with one truck.  Since then the company has been steadily growing.  The company now has all the necessary equipment to perform any job (large or small.)  Our goal has been to be as self-sufficient as possible.  By increasing the types of work that can be done in house, more quality control and product craftsmanship can be achieved.
